We have gone here a number of times over the years. A small playground, skateboard park and beautiful gardens. This is a frequent stop for wedding photographers, and families. Equipped with washrooms open fields, and soccer fields. We have flown kites here, launched rockets with friends in the open fields and gone for walks in the woods and in the gardens.

This small Museum tells of local history of boats sailing and sinking, as well as history of the harbour.

Learn of marine instruments, equipment and other marine artifacts. Look out the port holes, and pretend to steer a ship upstairs.

From the deck upstairs you can see Lake Huron, only a few minutes walk away.

Along Hidden Park Road, their are a couple of parking lots, for people to park and make use of the park.

We have been here a few times, our last trip we went for a long walk along the path, we stopped to admire the creek and play with the rocks and watch a local frog.

We saw a bridges over the creek, open areas, as well as a couple of playgrounds. The woods where beautiful, so we plan to go back in the fall, to admire the fall leaves.

The walking trails could easily handle a wagon or stroller.

This School Car is one of only a few remaining railway schools used as a highly successful method of reaching and teaching the isolated children and adults of the Northern Ontario.

We got a tour of this car the first part is a travelling classroom, the second part is were the Sloman Family lived. Sloman Park is small, but has a couple of picnic tables, and lovely gardens, but not much of a playground.

We went here during the early summer, we visited the Halton Regional Museum, and historic buildings. The Museum has great, we enjoyed viewing their collection of carriages, and upstairs we had a private tour. The historic homes are not open inside to the public, only a small path going though the buildings.

We did a hiking trail, it was confusing in that parts of the trails are for serious mountain bikers, and others are for hikers on foot, the trails intersect and it was easy to end up on the wrong trail, but the bikers were accommodating, and it was neat to see their skills.

We spent some time at the beach, they had a separate area for swimmers and people using boats and canoes. Along the beach was plenty of trees, the far side of the beach had more facilities washrooms, food, picnic areas.

We spent a little over an hour here, the building is mostly used for educational programs, but we came for their guided tour. The guide showed us displays how we can save energy and water with simple changes as well as big changes they made with things like solar power and wind power. The property also had a community garden as well as other natural space, all pesticide free. They had a room of various types of composting, as well as some art displays.

We have gone here a few times, enjoying the public gardens, views of Lake Ontario and the walking trail. The walking trail is short, a little over a kilometer long, winding over bridges and gardens, we often spot unique bird and butterfly wildlife along the trails. The trail can easily be done with a stroller or child's wagon. Their are heritage boards telling a little of the public history of the buildings, and other landmarks. Many of the buildings themselves are booked for private functions such as weddings and other events.

We have gone here several times over the years, finding books, treasures, parts for school projects and a used but well built student desk. I like looking at the used doors, construction pieces records and other odd items. This place is sort of a last chance for objects not to end up at the dump, being an environmental alternative for weird and wonderful stuff. Be aware this place is very dusty an a careful eye must be used while searching.

We went here in the summer, but not during their big reenactment weekend, though I hear it is very well done. The costumed tour guide was very enthusiastic. It was especially meaningful when they took us down into the root cellar and told us how the American Solders locked up the Gage family in the cellar, took all their food, preparing to attack. Luckily the Gage family was saved by Canadian soldiers. We also climbed the monument tower and saw a great view of Hamilton, we brought some picnic food and ate under in the picnic shelter across the bridge.

The entrance to this park is hard to find as it is hidden by trees, it is on Bronte Road very close to Rebecca Street. We have been a few times, we drove into the driveway down a step hill, into a small parking lot. The old playground that used to be here is no longer. The walking trails along the river have some beautiful spots. In past trips we spotted frogs, we were not as lucky this time.

We went through this historic home, a temporary exibit was in the front room while we were their of a local children's book Illistratour. We then took a short walk to see the lake then though their wood lot with a trail. The trail took us to a staircase down to Bronte Beach, on Lake Ontario.

We went to Bronte Marsh in the summer and again the following year in the spring. We walked along the paths on both sides of the river and it's marsh lands. We have spotted geese tending their babies as well as eggs.

The paths are well maintained with mostly wild gardens and wild marshlands feeding into lake Ontario.

In the winter Bronte Marsh Rink becomes a community rink. The rink is operational weather permitting and depending on ice thickness and quality of ice on the marsh. Is is signed as "safe" or "unsafe."

When we went back in the winter, we found groups and families playing hockey, other families skating up the marsh. Small groups played hockey various places up and down the marsh, leaving room for recreational skaters to skate up and down exploring the wilderness. We even spotted a beaver along the river.

We entered the park from the Burlington Rotary Club parking lot, we did the labyrinth together, walking to the centre and then back out again. The labyrinth had gardens around the edge, flowers just starting to peek out this spring. Meters away from the labyrinth was a small park and walking path that is reasonably shaded, with some garden space.

Central Park is a L shaped park with the Rotary Club, labyrinth and park on one end, and Central Library and second larger park on the other end, with soccer fields between.

We spent a few hours here, kiking around the upper part of the quarry, down a rocky trail into lower land. We walked on the boardwalk watching fish swim between the reeds. We continued along the trails in a forested areas with the odd bridge over water. We then circled back up to the upper ridge back to the car, we parked along Kerns road. Driving back we saw a couple of parking lots, we stopped in one and admirred the view into Hamilton.

We spent about an hour in this museum, the child labour exhibit was the kids favourite part. Displays on local history of Hamilton early industrial period, as well as exhibits on various work places. We explored early office environments, exhibits on how assembly lines changed how things were made. Some of the exhibits are permanent, while others travel.

We spent almost two hours here, exhibits you can stage photos with, learn odd facts of history human culture and more. Artifacts that are creepy unusual and just plain weird. I have been to the Ripley's Believe it or Not on Prince Edward Island as well, it is also worth a visit, but the one in Niagara Falls is much larger. Their are Ripley's Believe it Or Not Museums all over the world I have never been to. The one in Niagara Falls, is best done as part of a Niagra hotel or attractions package, economically speaking.

We have gone to the Museum a few times with our kids, and I have been as a kid and as an adult before children. We spent the whole day here, about six hours. They have play spots scattered about where younger kids can engage in hands on learning and playing. Most of the Museum is organized my times in history as well as places in the world. Their is also a large animal science section, and of coarse dinosaurs. Their is often special exhibits that change.

We ate our packed lunch, using their picnic tables under large trees. We took their guided tour of the home, and property. The kids got to tryout some of the pioneer toys and other exhibits. We even visited their three seat outhouse, no waiting. The log cabin was closed the day we went, for a special event. We then took a short ten minute walk along the easy to walk trail to a nearby trail. The guided tour was about twenty minutes, she demonstrated yarn weaving cooking and more.

We explored the gallery and sculptures on the campus. I'm glad we went outside of the university school year, as parking would have been more of a problem.

Their was a temporary, changing exhibit on the main floor, and permanent exhibit on the fourth floor. The art gallery was smaller than most, but we did spent the better part of half an hour in the gallery itself. On the way through the campus buildings we saw gardens and sculptures that captured out interests.

We went here early spring, we visited lots of birds in the aviary, the volunteer bird handlers were full of information they shared with us. One of the birds showed off her feathers when you called out her name, another was full of words and phrases, a few of the birds knew a few words.

If we went later in the spring, more of the birds would have been out in the outdoor areas. Their is a walking trail, that is part of the Royal Botanical Gardens, out side the bird sanctuary, we could have enjoyed if the weather was a touch warmer. Parking was a dollar and hour, and donations are welcomed, with coin boxes inside the Aviary.

We spent about an hour here, looking at the old fashioned pharmacy desk, and medical instruments and bottles of medicine sold mostly hundred years ago. We also spent a while talking to the tour guide, a retired pharmacist who was well informed of local and history of medicine. This attraction is only open seasonally, during the warmer months, see website for dates.
